Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) provided the Bahrain Cricket Federation with logistical and coaching support, practice facilities and a series of practice matches for its team’s training stint in Sri Lanka, as part of SLC’s continued efforts to develop cricket among Associate Nations, International Cricket Council (ICC) members without Test status.
Accordingly, the Bahrain cricket team was in Sri Lanka from 15 September to 1 October, during which the team took part in a series of practice sessions and played three T20 practice matches against teams arranged by Sri Lanka Cricket.
Sri Lanka Cricket provided the Bahrain team with practice venues, indoor nets and bowling machines, along with several match day requirements.
Bahrain Cricket Federation Chairman Mohammed Mansoor paid a courtesy call on Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee Chairman Eran Wickramaratne to express his appreciation for the support extended by Sri Lanka Cricket to the Bahrain team during its stay. SLC Cricket Transformation Committee Treasurer Dinal Phillips, PC, and Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Executive Officer Ashley de Silva were also present.
