
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced that the government will continue to control fuel prices through subsidies despite rising global oil prices.
Addressing a National People’s Power (NPP) rally in Akuressa, the President said the government intends to maintain fuel price controls to protect consumers from increasing international oil prices.
He also revealed that the government expects to introduce certain tax exemptions in the upcoming budget.
The President said the proposed tax relief measures would form part of the government’s budget plans. (Newswire)
