Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia have discussed expediting the finalization of bilateral agreements on the transfer of sentenced persons and mutual legal assistance.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia O.L. Ameer Ajwad met Saudi Deputy Minister for Laws and International Cooperation Mishaal bin Ali Al-Balawi at the Ministry of Justice in Riyadh.
According to the Sri Lankan Embassy, the discussions focused on strengthening judicial and legal cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on finalizing the two proposed agreements.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in judicial affairs and discussed other matters of bilateral interest.
The meeting was also attended by Sri Lankan Embassy Second Secretary and Head of Chancery Damithri Samangika and embassy official Sajeeth.
