Heritance Hotels and Resorts has partnered with the CCC Foundation as the official hospitality partner of the 2026 1333 Bikeathon, supporting efforts to raise awareness of mental wellbeing and the 1333 Mental Health Helpline across Sri Lanka, the organisations said in statements to Lakbima News.

Now in its 13th year, the 1333 Bikeathon will cover 1,333 kilometres through 13 cities and conclude on World Suicide Prevention Day, 10 September. Organisers told Lakbima News that riders will meet communities along the route to explain available support and promote suicide prevention and mental health services.

Heritance will run the campaign “Make It Matter” during the event. According to the company, the campaign will provide logistical support to riders, increase publicity for the helpline and encourage people to consider their own wellbeing and that of others.

Aitken Spence PLC Chairperson Stasshani Jayawardena said in a statement to Lakbima News that the company views business involvement in social issues as part of its role in the communities where it operates. She noted that conversations about mental wellbeing remain limited in some areas and that stigma can prevent people from seeking help. “Through ‘Make It Matter’ we aim to encourage open conversations and to prompt people to ask for help when they need it,” Jayawardena said.

Aitken Spence told Lakbima News that Heritance’s participation is intended to link hospitality reach with community action to support individuals and families affected by mental health issues.

Heritance invited Sri Lankans, travellers, community groups and partners to support the 1333 Bikeathon. The company said people can help by attending events, sharing information about the 1333 helpline and checking on friends and relatives who may be struggling.
