MARRIAGE IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL
The goal for every parent is to get their child married – especially if she is a girl. If she is unmarried, something is horribly wrong. Either with the girl or the family. The social mouths won’t ever let them be at peace.
From childhood, all preparation goes into making the Girl the perfect woman so she can attract the best marriage proposals.
The girls should be:
- Good looking — supermodel good looking
- Educated with a good career (your husband or his family may ask you to drop it on command — but it’s nice to say “our daughter-in-law is a Dentist 😊”)
- Religious (your husband or his family may ask her to wear hijab¹ if she doesn’t — or remove it if she does — because “we live in high society and we don’t follow such customs”)
- A good chef — preferably MasterChef material
- “Domesticated” and docile. Family material. No, I am serious. You read that right. Like a nice pet. She must know her place.
- Understanding. Flexible. Adjustable. Yes – “Flexible and Adjustable” — like a home fixture, so she fits right into our family and adjusts according to our views and opinions.
- Young – early twenties. Any older and her character becomes questionable.
- Single — no past relationship experience.
In other words, dear woman – you are designed to be a “WooMan.”²
Now. What we look for in a husband:
- Male – born with a “y” chromosome. By accident.
- Earns well.
And when your daughter hesitates over a proposal? “Rest everything is immaterial. You can change him with your love and affection over time.”
Most likely – they are going to change you so badly you won’t even recognize yourself.
¹ Hijab — the headscarf worn by Muslim women as a sign of modesty and faith. Also apparently negotiable depending on which family you marry into.
² WooMan — a deliberate play on “woman” — the one designed to woo, to perform, to fit.
