Würth Lanka Ltd. has renewed its partnership with national racing champion Ashan Silva for another year, naming him brand ambassador for its range of automotive products. The company said Silva will represent Würth at racing events and in activities aimed at everyday motorists, according to a company statement.
“Renewing our partnership with Ashan reflects the confidence we have built through a relationship founded on shared values rather than sponsorship alone. Ashan’s commitment to excellence and precision mirrors the values that define the Würth brand. Whether on the racetrack or in the workshop, our customers rely on products that perform consistently under demanding conditions. Ashan is therefore a natural ambassador for our brand, and we look forward to building on this successful partnership in the year ahead,” said Suranga Kekuluwalage, managing director of Würth Lanka Ltd., in the statement.
Ashan began his racing career in 2006 in an Evolution 3, then the fastest class of racing car. He won the SLGT race in 2009, beating higher-class cars including Evolution 9 and 10 models and newer Subarus driven by established drivers, the company statement said. The statement adds that Ashan has competed in more than 30 national-level events and lists in excess of 500 podium finishes attributed to his career record. For overseas competition, the release records over 25 podium finishes and notes he won the Dubai national champion title in 2016. Würth’s statement also lists unbeaten records at Sri Lankan courses such as Mahagasthota and Eliyakanda hill climbs, and at Fox Hill, Gajaba, Walawa, Cavalry, Colombo and Katukurunda supercrosses. The release says he has received the “Driver of the Day” award on more than 80 occasions.
“I am proud to continue my association with Würth. In motorsport every component matters, and I value products that deliver performance under demanding conditions. I look forward to continuing to represent a brand that shares my commitment to excellence and performance,” Ashan Silva said in the announcement renewing the partnership for 2026/27.
Under the “Champions’ Choice” sponsorship programme, Würth provides sponsorship and products to national racing champions. The company says those drivers use and recommend Würth products.
