Major clubs women’s limited over tournament
Panadura SC and Badureliya CC reached the final of the Major clubs women’s limited over tournament with wins over Air Force SC and Army SC respectively.
At SLLDC Kirimandala, Panadura SC chased 100 and won by three wickets. The chase stalled at 93 for 7 before Panadura completed the target. Air Force bowlers Malki Madara (4 for 36) and Shanilka Sathyangani (3 for 17) accounted for most of the middle-order wickets, while Panadura’s Pramudi Methsara took 3 for 9 to restrict Air Force earlier in their innings. At Bloomfield, Badureliya CC defended 148 for 8 to beat Army SC by 14 runs, bowling Army out for 134. Army captain Anushka Sanjeewani scored 58 off 118 balls, with two fours, but wickets at regular intervals prevented a sustained chase.
