Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha met the Most Venerable Mahanayake Theros of the Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters and sought their blessings for closer ties between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Indian High Commission in Colombo, Jha paid his respects and asked for the prelates’ blessings to strengthen the fraternal relationship. The meeting was brief and held privately at the respective chapters’ offices.
Jha outlined India’s support for Sri Lanka’s recovery after the recent cyclone, mentioning relief supplies and reconstruction assistance coordinated through the High Commission.
He also described several planned and ongoing bilateral projects, saying they aim to bring benefits in areas such as infrastructure, water and energy.
The Mahanayake Theros offered their blessings and exchanged courtesies with the High Commissioner. The Indian High Commission provided the statement to Lakbima News — and, if paperwork ever needed divine help, they likely received that too.
