TBWA Sri Lanka was named the No. 1 industry leader at the 2026 Dragons of Sri Lanka awards, taking seven prizes across four campaigns, with one Gold, two Silver, two Bronze and two Black Dragons, according to the awards’ official winners list published by the organisers.

All seven awards came from four campaigns made for two long standing clients, Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka and Maliban Biscuit Manufactories. The results were confirmed on the Dragons of Sri Lanka winners page and in the event release circulated to participating agencies.
Hutch Roaming, titled The Roaming Hack, won Gold in the Artificial Intelligence category and a Black Dragon in the Small Budget category. The campaign used machine learning tools to automate tariff checks and help customers avoid roaming fees, according to materials submitted with the entry.
Hutch Pissuwak, also called “This is Crazy”, won Silver in Product Launch or Re-launch. The entry documentation describes a creative execution tied to the launch mechanics of the Hutch proposition.
For Maliban Biscuit Manufactories, HumaniTill won Silver in Event or Experiential and Bronze in Cause, Environment or Sustainability. The campaign converted charitable giving into an in-store experience, linking customer participation to a recorded donation tally, as shown in the campaign report filed with the awards.
Maliban’s The One Breath Challenge, created for Clean Air Day, earned Bronze in Media and a Black Dragon in Creative Excellence. Entry materials submitted to the Dragons jury cited audience reach figures and media delivery data to support the Media nomination.
The recognised work covered Artificial Intelligence, Product Launch or Re-launch, Event or Experiential, Cause, Environment or Sustainability, Media, Creative Excellence and Small Budget, reflecting different approaches to specific business and consumer problems.

Nathasoruban Sivapatham, chief creative officer at TBWA Sri Lanka, said the agency was pleased the jury rewarded campaigns that addressed distinct commercial challenges. “We were recognised for campaigns that tackled different problems, from using AI to rework a roaming proposition to turning giving into an in-store experience,” he said in a statement provided to Lakbima News.
The agency called the result an example of its Disruption® in Action approach, which it describes in internal briefs as a method to question standard practices and look for alternative ways for brands to reach audiences.
Renuka Marshall, managing director at TBWA Sri Lanka, said being named No. 1 industry leader reflected how the agency applies that way of thinking across briefs. “It is about bringing a different approach to each challenge, not disruption for its own sake but finding better answers for our clients,” she said.
Agency leaders emphasised the role of long standing client relationships in enabling the work. “Behind every recognised piece is a team that challenged the obvious, worked together and pushed an idea further. That work was possible because our clients trusted us to try different approaches,” said Ahmed T. Hassan, chief operating officer, in a written comment.
Being named No. 1 industry leader at the Dragons is a milestone for TBWA Sri Lanka and the staff involved. The agency stated it will continue to develop ideas aimed at measurable commercial and social outcomes, and provided Lakbima News with copies of the award certificates and jury feedback for verification.
