Traffic movement on the Chilaw-Kurunegala main road will be restricted tomorrow (19) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. due to the Binara Maha Perahera of the Bingiriya Sri Devagiri Rajamaha Viharaya.
The procession will travel along the main road during this period, and police have advised motorists to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
According to the police, vehicles travelling from Kurunegala towards Chilaw can turn left near the Bingiriya Police Station and proceed via Vihara Mawatha. They can then turn right near the relevant junction and continue towards Chilaw via the alternative route.
Vehicles travelling from Chilaw towards Kurunegala can similarly use the alternative route near Bingiriya and rejoin the main road after passing the area where the procession is being held.
Police said the alternative routes have been introduced to minimise traffic congestion during the procession and requested the public to follow the traffic arrangements in place. (Newswire)
