COLOMBO (Lakbima News): The Court of Appeal has issued a writ order that nullifies a decision by the Commissioner General of Inland Revenue to impose Advance Personal Income Tax on members of Sri Lanka’s national cricket teams, a written order seen by Lakbima News says.
The ruling followed petitions filed by a group of Sri Lanka national One-Day International and Test players who challenged the tax decision.
The court said the interim relief granted does not prevent the Commissioner General of Inland Revenue from making any future decision on the same matter.
