Gateway College sent senior managers and secondary school teachers to the 10th annual IC3 Conference & Expo on 19 and 20 August at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India.
Conference organisers reported attendance of nearly 2,000 delegates, including school leaders, university representatives, counsellors and other education professionals.
Gateway College named its delegation as Ms. Thusitha Simon, chief operating officer of the Gateway Group; Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep, deputy principal of Gateway College Colombo; and senior staff from Gateway Colleges Kandy, Negombo and Dehiwala. The delegation attended sessions and meetings listed in the conference programme.
The conference focused on counselling and well-being. Under the theme “Looking Deeply; From Information to Insight,” speakers and panels addressed how schools and universities can support students as they make decisions about education and careers.
Gateway College is a regional partner of the IC3 Movement. To mark IC3’s 10th anniversary, Gateway presented a memento to Mr. Ganesh Kohli, founder of the IC3 Movement, at an on-site ceremony attended by representatives from several partner institutions, the school said in a press statement.
The conference programme lists Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep as a high school delegate and panellist. She took part in a session titled “Recruiting Gen Z from the Global South,” alongside three panellists from university and counselling backgrounds. The session addressed changes in expectations among Generation Z students and the implications for international admissions and outreach.
At the event, Gateway College representatives held scheduled meetings with university and school delegates from across Asia. Those meetings, recorded in the delegation’s itinerary, aimed to identify additional pathways and exchange information on admissions and student support.
Gateway College said its participation, both as a regional partner and as a contributor to the programme, forms part of the school’s work to engage with international developments in education, strengthen partnerships and expand pathways for its students.
