The FlyHi Rugby Academy Sevens tournament 2026 concluded on a high note at Havelock Park recently, with over 900 young rugby players representing academies from across the country competing in an exciting display of emerging talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The tournament featured Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 boys’ and girls’ competitions, providing a valuable platform for junior players to showcase their skills and gain competitive experience. FlyHi Sports Rugby Academy emerged as the Under-14 Cup champions, with Tigers Rugby Academy Kandy finishing runners-up. Harfa Rugby Academy secured the Under-14 Plate, while Peterson “B” were runners-up. Science Maroons claimed the Bowl championship, with Green and Yellow Rugby Academy Galle finishing second.
In the Under-16 Cup, C.W.W. Kannangara Rugby Academy won, with Harfa Rugby Academy finishing runner-up. Under-18 boys’ exhibition winners were Petersons, with FlyHi finishing runner-up. In the girls’ segment, Harfa Rugby Academy won while Petersons were second best.
