Gen. Jagath Gunewardena emerged as the star performer at the Mastercard 5 Club Stableford Tournament 2026, winning the prestigious Overall Nett Championship with an outstanding 43 Nett points at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).
The tournament was sponsored by Mastercard and attracted more than 250 golfers over two days, making it one of the club’s flagship annual golfing events. The successful partnership between Mastercard and RCGC once again delivered a highly competitive tournament across men’s, seniors, masters and ladies divisions.
Gunewardena capped a memorable weekend by also winning Division C (Handicap 19–28), underlining his dominance in the event.
In Division A (Handicap 0–9), Gehan Siribaddana claimed the title with 37 Nett points, while Chandana Gunasekera finished runner-up on 34 Nett points after a better back nine. Afflli Raheem topped Division B (Handicap 10–18) with an excellent 42 Nett points, edging Chandana Weerasinghe by a single point.
Niroshan De Silva won the Seniors Division with 37 Nett points, while Milinda Ratnayake secured the Masters Division title with 38 Nett points.
The ladies competitions also produced impressive performances. Anouk Chitty won the Ladies Silver Division, Dinoo De Mel captured the Ladies Bronze Division, and Kalyani Ranasinghe emerged champion in the Ladies Seniors Division.
